Strategy Writing

There are a number of good reasons why you might need a strategy.

You might just need to work out where your organisation or practice is going, looking at your workforce skills and the opportunities out there. Or you may need to demonstrate a strategic approach for funders and potential investors.

Either way, you need someone who can quickly understand your practice or business and advise accordingly. You need someone who has considerable experience within the Arts and who is able to articulate the best options available to you using straightforward language instead of waffle and jargon.

Arts

Strategies

Every Council needs a Art Strategy to lay out their intentions for the Arts. These need to be written in consultation with arts organisations, businesses, community and individuals. Each one is bespoke to the heritage and history of the area and includes base line engagement with the Arts.

Venue or Organisational

Strategies

More specifically a Venue or Organisational strategy looks at opportunities and weaknesses. It involves staff and audience interviews and looks at how the business model can be changed or adapted. It includes risk mitigation and future proofing the business, restructuring proposals and creative themes.

Funding

Strategies

Following on from either an Arts Strategy or Theatre Venue Strategy is the question 'how do we pay for it all'. A Funding strategy takes the information garnered from the previous strategies and develops the route through them via fund raising and funding streams.
